BOOKS

Human is the most intelligent species of the planet. We base our actions on information. So, why do ecocatastrophes continue even though we know their details better than ever?

The Beluga Bowl (Valas lasimaljassa) describes the paradoxes of environmental conservation and shows how humans are trapped like smart aquarium whales, chained by cultural constrains besides the big brains, and thus bound to drive environmental destruction. Yet, the beluga parable also provides us with solutions: how to change our cultural bowl to fit our biology, how to nudge our species to sustainable consumption?
